Description

This is the final content-based materials I have designed is for grade three students. The topic is on similar and congruent shapes from mathematics subject. The main objectives of the materials are to identify the similar and congruent shapes appropriately after learning this topic. This time the tool that I have used video tutorial. Video tutorial offers a multidimensional experience that may combine charts, slides, photos, voice narration and inserting pictures.  Moreover, it informs the student of the purpose of viewing the video and instructs the students to make observations and record the information. It is very useful for the educational presentation to convince the lesson and purposes by using this video tutorial lesson delivery.

How did I create the materials?  

In order to come up with this video tutorial lesson, first I have planned a lesson in the PowerPoint presentation about similar and congruent shapes. Then only I have converted in to video MPGE-4 (MP4). I have designed a light blue background then, inserted different types of shapes (rhombus, triangles, hexagon, rectangle,  cloud, stars, etc.) and filled them with appropriate colors to introduce the lesson since the topic itself is based on the shapes and I have used different types of shapes effectively. This background has used all across the slides. I have used entrance animation (grow & turn) to introduce the topic in the first slide and followed by fade animation to display the objectives of lesson in second slide. For the following slides, I have used simple and several animations like appear, fade, disappear, wipe in order to guide the students properly and not to distract them. I have also inserted pictures downloaded from internet to support the concept and make it interesting and understandable. Not only this, I have also utilized shapes especially the transparent and red outlined circle to highlight the important points. After that, I saved the video from produce and share option by selecting the MP4 with video player (up to 720p) because it will give the best version of graphic compare to other option.

When to use the materials?

The materials can used during lesson development and lesson closure. The video can suffice as information input under lesson development in teaching the concepts to students because all the information have clearly explained with voice narration. Whilst the teacher can pause the video to introduce the similar and congruent shapes because students might be, confused if the video has played continuous without getting the concept. We can also pause the video after all the concepts have explained to carry out the activity. This video can used while teaching students about the similar and congruent shapes incase if the school is limited with the teaching learning resources to use in the classroom. It is also useful like the present situation where there is lock down in the country where schools are closed and when teachers and students are doing online classes. In this type of situation, we can used such video tutorial to convince effective information to the students as if like a real classroom settings.

 

Activity Instructions

It is a pair work.

Teacher will provide link or worksheets to students.

The worksheet will have two questions and question one is to identify the similar shapes from given other shapes.

Question 2 is to identify the congruent shapes from the given other shapes.

Since it is for grade three students, they are supposed to identify the shapes as per their level.

If the students have identified the correct shapes and prove their answer both the member will awarded the marks.

Then teacher will add their mark as in their CA.

Description

The content-based materials I have designed is for grade four students. The topic is on recording the temperature from studies subject. The main objectives of the materials are to define the temperature appropriately, read or write the record of the thermometer and then recognize the high and low temperature. The tool I have used this time is Camtasia. Camtasia is a powerful video editing software, which is use to record the videos on computer screen and it supports wide range of file formats for exporting and importing. Moreover, it is very useful for the educational presentation to convince the lesson and purposes by using this Camtasia studio.

How did I create the materials?  

In order to come up with this Camtasia video lesson, first I have planned a lesson in the PowerPoint presentation about temperature and then only I have screen recorded using Camtasia studio. I have designed a light blue background then, inserted different types of shapes (rectangle, circle cloud, stars, etc.) and filled them with appropriate colors to introduce the lesson. This background has used all across the slides. I have used entrance animation (grow & turn) to introduce the topic in the first slide and followed by fade animation to display the objectives of lesson in second slide. For the following slides, I have used simple and several animations like appear, fade, disappear, wipe and used the motions like up and down line from the more option animation, in order to guide the students properly and not to distract them. I have also inserted pictures downloaded from internet to support the concept and make it interesting and understandable. Not only this, I have also utilized shapes especially the transparent and red outlined circle to highlight the important points.

After the presentation is completed, I opened the Camtasia Studio 8.2 version, selected record the screen option, and started recording. I explained the concepts as if I were teaching in the real classroom. I saved the recording after it has done and automatically it took me back to Camtasia. Then, I started editing by using tool such as cut, split, transition, zoom-n-pan options. After that, I saved the video from produce and share option by selecting the MP4 with video player (up to 720p) because it will give the best version of graphic compare to other option.

When to use the materials?

The materials can used during lesson development and lesson closure. The video can suffice as information input under lesson development in teaching the concepts to students because all the information have clearly explained with voice narration. Whilst the teacher can pause the video to introduce the thermometer to measure the temperature and when it reaches to recording temperature while showing the increasing and decreasing liquid inside the thermometer part because students might be, confused if the video has played continuous without getting the concept. We can also pause the video after all the concepts have explained to carry out the activity. This video can used while teaching students about recording temperature if the school is limited with the instruments to use in recording temperature or during the present situation like lock down in the country where schools are closed and when teachers and students are doing online classes. In this type of situation, we can used such Camtasia video to convince effective information to the students as if like a practical classes.

 

Activity Instructions

Teacher will provide link on the worksheet for the students.

The worksheet contain three types of thermometers with different readings of temperature.

Since it is for grade 4 students, they are supposed to look at the thermometer scale and then write the temperature in the form of degree Celsius or in Fahrenheit.

If the students have written the correct scales, they will given marks.

Then teacher will add their mark as in their CA.

Descriptions

This time I have come up with the simulation based on teaching grade four students about the germination of a seed. I have chosen this topic from the science subject in order to let students expose to the ICT world after going through this simulation. It will help students to understand how seeds grow into plants with the help of some process involved in growing the seed. It is easy to understand the information given in the by the students as I have used pictures and animations to let students understand better. The reason behind choosing this topic is I found it suitable and informative to teach with the use of ICT integration in the classroom since it is comprehensible to learn through seeing the real life situation in animated form. In that way, I can convince the information about the types of weather together without wasting much time delivering lesson on germination of seeds. The main objective of this simulation lesson is to help each child to describe the process of the seed growing into the plant, in their daily life after learning or going through this simulation.  In addition, the children can comprehend the knowledge on germination of a seed in a short period watching this simulation with colorful pictures and animations.

How did I create the materials?

 The animations and the colorful pictures usually attract the children’s learning. This enable them to involve and understand the lesson clearly. To fulfill those things, I have come up with this simulation lesson through use of ICT integrations.

I have inserted various ready-made shapes like stars, circle cloud, rectangles, heart, etc. and I have drawn the irregular shapes using scribble shape board and then filled the shapes with specific colors, which is relevant to the lessons. Through use of various shapes and colors, I have come up with the process of a seed growing into the plant. In order to understand better about this process, I have inserted different types of animations in the shapes that suits the process of germination so that it looks like a real seed growing in front of them. Then the background design of the simulation is also the pure self-designed and I have used light blue mixed with light green color, which suits the background of this simulation. I have tried my level best to come up with all those informative work in order to convince the better information to the students and let them keep these information or lesson for longer duration. Moreover, the young children love the beautiful pictures and colors in their day-to-day learning.  They also prefer animation or the movement of the things, which boost the attention, interest and excitement in learning to the eyes of young children. I have inserted the background music in the slides because it will boost the student’s attention in the slides or while learning the lesson on weather. I have also used simple languages for the younger children to convince with the appropriate information and let them understand the content well. In addition, I have written a less relevant sentence using simple language in every slide as per the children’s capacity to understand and learn the content in their level.

When to use the materials?

The materials can used in lesson introduction or in lesson development and the learning activity. The reason is, in lesson development, the information input addresses and the teacher can use this simulation to teach the concept along with the examples from the slides to aid information input in a better way. During learning activity, the slides can used to complete the student’s activity as they can use their previous learnt knowledge from the slides. Moreover, students can explore more on this content via doing an activity that lets to use this slides.

Furthermore, it also makes the students to do activity on writing the process of germination of seeds in steps, which ensure retaining information for long duration and effective teaching and learning.

Activity Instruction: 

1.       You will do the activity individually.

2.      Teacher will show the slide in the projector.

3.      You are supposed to arrange the steps of germination of a seed or the process of seed growing into a plant in sequence.

4.      Whoever finished the work first will be the winner and award the mark for 1st, 2nd and 3rd.  You have to say BINGO if you complete the activity.

5.      You should not discuss and get help from each other and if I happen to see you discussing then I will not consider your work.

 The presentation I have prepared is simulation based on teaching grade III students about Weather in English subject.  The reason behind choosing this topic is I found it suitable and informative to teach with the use of ICT integration in the classroom since it is comprehensible to learn through seeing the real life situation in animated form. In that way, I can convince the information about the types of weather together without wasting much time delivering different types of weather to occur outside and then teaching a lesson. The main objective of this simulation lesson is to help each child to identify and describe the types of weather like rainy, sunny, windy, and snowy, in their daily life after learning or going through this simulation.  In addition, the children can comprehend the knowledge of four types of weather in a short period watching this simulation with attractive gifs, pictures and animations like a real thing happening around.   

How did I create the materials?

As a young learner, the animations, sound or music and the colorful pictures in their learning usually attract children, which enable them to involve and understand the lesson clearly. To fulfill those things, I have come up with this simulation lesson through use of ICT integrations.

I have downloaded the relevant gifs and animated pictures to cover the concept on weather in order to convince the better information and to let student keep the information for longer duration. Moreover, the young children love the beautiful pictures and gifs in their day-to-day learning.  The gifs and animated pictures I have downloaded are interesting and fascinating to the eyes of young children. I have inserted the background music in the slides because it will boost the student’s attention in the slides or while learning the lesson on weather. I have also used simple languages for the younger children to convince with the appropriate information and let them understand the content well. In addition, I have written a less relevant sentence using simple language in every slide as per the children’s capacity to understand and learn the content in their level.

4.      Whoever finished the work first with correct matching will be the winner and award the mark for 1st, 2nd and 3rd.  You have to say BINGO if you complete the activity.

5.      You should not discuss and get help from each other and if I happen to see you discussing then I will not consider your work.

Description

Hello readers! This lesson activity is created in the fulfillment of the assignment three with the use of voice over power point presentation in the form of video lesson. The presentation I have prepared is based on teaching grade five students about the parts of a plant and its functions along with the voice in the power point presentation.  It is easy to understand the information given in the presentation by the students as I have used simple language to convince the information about the parts of a plant along with the pictures and understandable explanation in it. The main objective is to let student understand, identify and then label the parts of plants along with their functions. I have chosen to teach this lesson in the form of voice over power point presentation because it is easy and effective tool to used and convince the appropriate lessons to the children through voice, pictures and the explanations in it.

How did I create the materials?

In my first slide I have designed the green plants background of the topic to ensure that the children understand what they are going to learn in this lesson. After that for the following slides I have used the diagram or the pictures of the plants along with the explanations in the text and used my voice to let the students understand the lesson better along with the sentences and words presented in the slides.. In the words I have also inserted the animations like grow and shrink, then bounce to grab the students attention in the lesson. Moreover in order to enhance better learning for the grade five students, I think they usually learn through text in the normal classroom setting but in order to grab more information I have also used the pictures and described the lesson in the form of words over the voice.

When to use the materials?

The materials can be used in lesson development and learning activity as this video lesson fulfills the teacher's aims on teaching and explaining the parts of plant using the slides from it. it can aid the knowledge and understanding of the concepts to the students in better ways using the informative slides with effective animations and pictures presented in this video lesson. During activity, the slides will help students to complete their task referring to it and do their work easily comprehending the knowledge about the parts and it's functions of the plants.  

Activity instructions

1.      This is an individual work.

2.      Students are provided with worksheet on the plants each.

3.      Students should label the diagram in the worksheet by themselves.

4.      They are supposed to write the functions of each parts in the worksheet.

5.      After completing the task, they will exchange their work and do the correction along with teacher’s guidance.

Introduction

I am Dawa Selden from Pemagatshel. I have completed my twelve grade at Nangkor Central School which is located under Pemagatshel Dzongkhag. Currently, I am a final year student studying here at Paro College of education. This is my final semester and I am very lucky to be joined in this wonderful college which shapes my life to a beautiful human. After joining to this profession I have gained lots of knowledge which is very important and useful in my life.

During my stay at high school days, I had a dream to become somebody in my future and after completion of my grade twelve, my parents and senior friends influence me to join in a teacher training which is also my dream too. Though I am not sure whether I could get a chance to study in the college or not, my brothers were very sure to recruit me in one of the college and they were encouraging me to be out of stress. Luckily, I had a day to join this college with my own decision along with my parent’s great support.

After joining in this college I came to explore the new environment which is totally new for me at the first time as I was new to this place and everything seems to be new to me.  At present it is almost four years being in this same place and I am getting adapted to the environment. On top of that I love to be in this college where every day gives me an opportunity to learn and prepare myself for the future.  Moreover I am happy to be joined in this proficient where I have learned the things which I have never knew in my life before.

In every semester, different modules ensure me with the informative lesson and build myself to become a good teacher filled with good knowledge in me. I came to know that being a teacher is not an easy work after I join in this college because we need to learn and be more content in order to teach others. In this way, I try my level best to do my best in every module which I take part in it and in this module I hope ICT teaching and learning may help me to know about it.

Therefore, in this page I am going to explore with the information related to the ICT and it’s benefit to both teachers and students. Moreover I will try to find more information and share  how ICT works in this 21 century where our teaching and learning becomes more easy with this tools. The main idea of my page is to make children grabs the information through the use of ICT tools.
